y +3 x = 14

given equation,

y + 1 = –3(x – 5)

y + 1 = -3 x + 15

y = -3 x +14 ........................(1)

comparing equation (1) with

y = m x + c

where m = -3 which is slope of the line

c = 14 which is intercept on the y axis

y +3 x = 14

hence, the linear function represented will be y +3 x = 14
