A rose garden is designed by joining a rectangle and a semicircle, as shown below. The rectangle is 27ft long and 19ft wide. If the gardener wants to build a fence around the garden, how many feet of fence are required? (Use the value 3.14 for π , and do not round your answer. Be sure to include the correct unit in your answer.)

π x d, the diameter of this circle is 22.

22 x 3.14 = 69.08, but this must be divided by two as it is a semicircle.

69.08/2 = 34.54,
so 34.54 is the perimeter of your semicircle now you must add all the lengths and widths together to get your perimeter.

22+31+31+34.54=118.54

the gardener will need 118.54ft of fence to go around the garden
