Because each circle has radius = 2 in, each side of the square is 4*2 = 8 in.
The area of the square is 8^2 = 64 in^2
The area of one circle is π*2^2 = 4π in^2
The area of 4 circles is 4*(4π) = 16 in^2
The remaining area of the square is
(64 - 16π) in^2
