Let x = m∠Y.

Complementary angles add up to 90°.
Therefore the complement of m∠Y = 90 - m∠Y, or 90 - x.

Because m∠Y is 6 more than 3 times (90 - m∠Y), therefore
x = 3(90 - x) + 6
x = 270 - 3x + 6
4x = 276
x = 276/4 = 69

Answer: m∠Y = 69°
