Answer:

A student visa

Step-by-step explanation:

A student wishing to attend a university or other academic institution in the United States must apply for a student visa (F-1). Those who wish to attend a professional or non-academic institution must apply for the non-academic visa (M-1). People who have a tourism visa (B-2) or people who travel to the United States using the Visa Waiver Program can not study full-time courses. A tourist visa can only be used to attend short courses that do not offer academic or professional credit, such as a short English course, for example. Please note that the number of class hours is not a factor for determine the correct type of visa.

The student should apply for a student visa in order to go home for a short period of time. In the student visa, the student's absence in America should not exceed for more than 5 months. If the student visa expires and the student still needs to study in the US, the student should apply again for the visa.
