Line segment AB has a length of 5 units. It is translated 3 units to the right on a coordinate plane to obtain line segment A prime B prime. What is the length of A prime B prime

5 units long because when you have a translation the length, size and shape of the segment doesn't change it's just moved over on the coordinate plane.

Answer:

The answer is 5 units.

Explanation:

In order to determine the answer, we have to know about the translation procedure. The translation means simply moving something without rotating, resizing or anything else, just moving.

In any figure or line, we must move every point:

  1. the same distance .
  2. in the same direction.

In this case, we have a line segment of 5 units lengths. If we translate the line, we will get the same length, because we just move the line, that is all.

Finally, the length of A prime B prime is 5 units.
