we know that

in this problem

AB is perpendicular to line segment EF and GH

AB is parallel to line segment CD

EF is parallel to line segment GH


EF=GH=a\ units\\\\EG=FH=b\ units

therefore

the answer Part a) is

AB is perpendicular to line segment GH

the answer Part b) is

the length of GH is
a\ units
