Elisa withdraw $20 at a time from her bank account and withdraw a total of $140. Ana withdrew $45 at a time from her bank account and withdrew a total of $270. Who made the greater number of withdrawals? Justify your answer?

Elisa made a greater number because when you divide $140 by $20 you get 7. So that is seven Twenty dollar bills. For Ana, you divide $270 by $45 and you get 6. So for Ana you get 6 withdrawals of $45.

Hey there!

In order to find the number of withdrawals that Elisa and Ana drew from their bank accounts, just divide the total amount of money that was withdrawn by the amount that was withdrawn each time they visited the bank.

Elisa: $140 ÷ $20 = 7 withdrawals

Ana: $270 ÷ $45 = 6 withdrawals

As you can see, Elisa withdrew one more time than Ana did. Elisa will be your answer. You can justify this answer with the division we did to get this answer.

Hope this helped you out! :-)
