The disadvantage is no genetic variation, this disadvantage is not true for sexual reproduction because different chromosomes from two different individuals are combined so genetic variation is evident in sexual reproduction.

Answer:

Asexual reproduction is a type of reproduction which includes only one parent. It includes methods like fission, budding, fragmentation, et cetera.

It produces genetically identical offspring due to which the genetic diversity of the population is very low. It is the major disadvantage of asexual reproduction as it makes the entire population prone to mass extinction.

In contrast, in sexual reproduction, the genetic material of the offspring is contributed by two parent due to which the genetic diversity of the population is high comparatively. In addition, event of crossing over during gamete formation also adds to the genetic diversity of the population.
