Since the clasp is half an inch long, to find the number of links, we need to take out the length of the clasp.
15- (1)/(2) =14 (1)/(2). Now, we just need to divide that length by 1/4.
14 (1)/(2) / (1)/(4) =58

Well first you subtract 0.5 (1/2) from 15. The result is 14.5. Then you divide 14.5 by 0.25 (1/4). the answer is 58.
