What is the equation of the line that is parallel to the line y − 1 = 4(x + 3) and passes through the point (4, 32)?

y = –x + 33
y = –x + 36
y = 4x − 16
y = 4x + 16

y - 1 = 4(x + 3)....in this equation, the slope is 4. A parallel line will have the same slope

y = mx + b
slope(m) = 4
(4,32)...x = 4 and y = 32
now sub and find b, the y int
32 = 4(4) + b
32 = 16 + b
32 - 16 = b
16 = b

so ur parallel equation is : y = 4x + 16
