Last year there were 43 science projects submitted by students at a science fair. This year thre are 52 science projects. To the nearest tenth, what is the percent of change in the number of science projects summited?

First, we work out the increase/decrease of the two amounts

There are 52-43 = 9 projects increase

Percentage increase =
(number of increase)/(original value)×100
Percentage increase =
(9)/(43)×100
Percentage increase = 21% (to the nearest integer)
