Temperature is said to be directly proportional to the heat addition. However, this is only true when a phase change is not involved in the substance. As heat is being added to a substance, the kinetic energy of the molecules would rise up as well and more heat would be felt in a macroscale. Therefore, increasing the measured temperature of the substance.
