In order for a really successful performance of any work of art, be it drama or poetry or anything, the first and most important thing is to fully try to understand the gist of the work. When the full extent of the work is understood by the performers, it s then only possible for the true meaning and purpose of the author's aim to be shown. Any performance without the real understanding of the adapted work will never succeed and will only lead to the confusion of the viewers and may even lead to the destruction or damage of the real and true intent of the writer. Understanding each and every aspect of the work will enable the performers to convey the poem's (or story's) meaning and tone.
