3x-2y=24

3x - 2y + 2y = 24 +2y Adding 2y to both sides of the equation

3x - 24 = 2y + 24 - 24 Subtracting 24 from both sides of the equation

(3x - 24)/2= 2/2y Dividing by 2 on both sides of the equation

3/2x - 12 = y

From this form of the equation we deduce the slope (coefficient of x) is 3/2 and the y-intercept is equal to -12.

To find the x-intercept, we replace y= 0 in the equation and isolate x

3/2x - 12 = 0

3/2x - 12+12 = 0+12 Adding 12 to both sides of the equation

x= 12/(3/2) Isolating x

x= 8

The x-intercept is 8
