y=mx+b
m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
m=(-8-4)/(9-3)
m=(-12)/(6)
m=-2
y=-2x+b
4=-2(3)+b
4=-6+b
10=b
y=-2x+10

The slope equation is: y2 - y1/ x2-x1. You can plug in the values 4- (-8)/ 3 - 9. That is 12/-6 which equals -2. Your slope is negative 2.

Your y intercept can be found when you graph, and it is when x equals 0. Your y intercept would be 10. Now your equation is y = -2x + 10.
