Hello!

In narrative, a motif (pronunciation) (help. ยท info) is any recurring element that has symbolic significance in a story. Through its repetition, a motif can help produce other narrative (or literary) aspects such as theme or mood.

In Other Words, Motif and theme are linked in a literary work but there is a difference between them. In a literary piece, amotif is a recurrent image, idea or a symbol that develops or explains a theme while a theme is a central idea or message.
