Find the slope of line a and line b. line a: (2,-15) and (5,10) line b: (4 8) & (0,-6)

To calculate the slope of any line, you need to know at least two points of said line.

The formula for the slope is


m=(y_1-y_2)/(x_1-x_2)

Where

(x₁,y₁) are the coordinates of one point of the line

(x₂,y₂) are the coordinates of a second point of the line

For line "a" the known points are (2,-15) and (5,10)

The slope of this line is


m_a=(10-(-15))/(5-2)=(25)/(3)

For line "b" the known points are (4,8) and (0,-6)

The slope of this line is


m_b=(8-(-6))/(4-0)=(14)/(4)=(7)/(2)

The slope of line a is 25/3 and the slope of line b is 7/2
