The restaurant is trying out a new menu. They asked 25 people if they liked the changes and 19 said they did. The restaurant had 227 customers that day. About how many liked the new menu?

19 out of 25 liked it so 19/25 liked it

19/25 = 0.76

227 x 0.76 = 172.52 so about 172 people liked it

Note: I was taught when rounding the number of people, always round down, because you cannot have a partial person ( 0.52 of a person). But depending on the teacher or program used, you may need to round up to 173 people.
