Answer: The gross weight is 225 lb.

Explanation:

Since we have given that

Weight of an article 10 lb

Weight of box =
(1)/(2)\ lb

Number of article = 20

Weight of one freight container = 15 lb

So, Total weight of article is given by

\text{Number of articles }* \text{Weight of each article}\\\\=20* 10\\\\=200\ lb

Total weight of box becomes after 20 articles are put into it .

20* (1)/(2)\\\\=10\ lb

Gross weight is given by

200+10+15\\\\=225\ lb

Hence, the gross weight is 225 lb.
