8 - 4xy^3....x = 3 and y = -2

8 - 4(3)(-2^3) =
8 - 4(3)(-8)
8 - (-96)
104

8-4*3*-2^3
exponents first
8-4*3*-8
multiplication left to right
8-12*-8
8+96
now add
104 is the answer
