In this case, we have that when the y-values decrease as the x-values increase, the data have an INVERSE association.

As one of the variables increases, the other decrease. It is represented in Statistic by the correlation coefficient.

One example could be that as the age of a car increase, the value of the car decrease.

This kind of association is common in many situations like the one described before.
