She will have to use 1/2 cup of mixed nuts.

Since she doesn't have the 1/2 measuring cup she'll have to use the 1/4 cup twice.

There's 4 1/4 in a whole. So half of that is 2.

Fill up the 1/4 cup measuring cup twice because 2 times 1/4 equals 1/2.
