Solve 2x - 1 < 7 and 5x + 3 < 3.

For the first one:
Add 1 on each side to isolate the 2x.
2x<8
Then divide by 2 to isolate the x.
x<4

For the second one:
Subtract 3 to isolate the 5x on both sides.
5x<0
Divide by 5 to isolate the x
x<0

1) 2x - 1 < 7
move the 1 over by addition
2x < 8
divide by 2
x < 4

2) 5x + 3 < 3
move the 3 over by subtraction
5x < 0
divide by 5
x < 0/5
x < 0
