In the diagram, ΔPMN ≅ ΔQSR.

If QR = 20 in., RS = 7 in., and SQ = 24 in., what is PN?

Answer: PN = 20 in.

Explanation:

In the diagram two congruent triangles are given ΔPMN ≅ ΔQSR.

So by CPCTC (corresponding parts of congruent triangles are congruent)

In ΔPMN and ΔQSR

PN=QR=20 in.

PM=SQ=24 in.

MN=RS= 7 in.

Congruent triangles are the triangles of which all the sides and all the angles are congruent.

  • If two triangles are said to be congruent then its all corresponding parts must be equal.
