What made world war 2 a total war

In WWI casualties were 1/10 deaths. Whereas in WWII they made up 2/3 of deaths. Knowing that all people were involved in WWII, woman, and military, make it evident for it to be a total war.

almost all of every country used about 90% of there resources to participate in the war
