the carbon dioxide and water are formed, for example:
CH₄ + 2O₂ = CO₂ + 2H₂O
methane
2C₂H₆ + 7O₂ = 4CO₂ + 6H₂O
ethane
C₃H₈ + 5O₂ = 3CO₂ + 4H₂O
