The connection between these two things ie internal conflict and multicultural writing could be due to the feelings and experiences of the new immigrant to say Canada. The new immigrant may have to speak a new language ie English instead of Spanish say which can lead to frustration at the difficulty of expressing oneself when one has to search for the words. Also, there can be disparaging remarks about one's capability which can be racially based ie racism and this can lead to feelings of inferiority or alternatively to indignation and an angry response. These are two things that can make this connection.
