The part of the brain which is the medulla oblongata controls the heart rate and blood pressure. The central nervous system is the part of the system where the brain is included. Having a high heart rate is also called Tachycardia. One of the sign of having tachycardia is having a high pulse rate. Tachycardia is only discovered by a doctor by facilitating ECG.
