1) AB/AC = 1/2
(3x-4)/(2x+12) =1/2
2(3x-4) = 1(2x+12)
6x - 8 = 2x +12
4x = 20 And x = 5

2) Prove AC/BC 2/3 ===== (2x+12)/(7x-2) = 2/3;
Plug in x = 5:

(10+12)/(35-2) = 22/33. Simplify numerator & denominator by 11

(2)(11)/(3)(11) = 2/3
