The height of the triangle is sixteen (16) inches.
___________________________________________

A = (1/2) * b * h ; Find "h"

A / [ (1/2) * b ] = h ;

h = 2A / b ;

Given: A = 96 in² ;
b = 12 in. ;

Plug in these given values to solve for "h" ;

h = [ (2)*(96 in²) ] / 12 in. = ?

Note: 2 ÷ 12 = 1/6 ;

So, rewrite as:

h = (96 in² / 6 in.) = 16 in.
