f(x)=y=(2x-2)/4
f^-1(x)=x=(2y-2)/4
4x=2y-2
4x+2=2y
f^-1(x)=y=2x+1
f^-1(3)=2(3)+1
=6+1
=7

Answer:

f^(-1)(3)=7

Explanation:

Given :
f(x)=(2x-2)/(4)

To Find:
f^(-1)(3)

Solution:

y=(2x-2)/(4)

Replace x with y and y with x

x=(2y-2)/(4)

Now find the value of y

(4x+2)/(2)=y

2x+1=y

Thus
f^(-1)(x)=2x+1

Now,
f^(-1)(3)=2(3)+1=6+1=7

Hence
f^(-1)(3)=7
