a injury to the spinal cord. It stops the signals from your brain traveling to your nerve to move. So a break in your spine would cause the permanent loss or simple reflexes.

Answer: Injury to spinal cord

Spinal cord performs two functions, one is that it connects the peripheral nervous system to the brain. It transfers the information through sensory neurons to the brain.

So, any damage to the spinal cord can result in complete loss of sensation and muscle function. It can break the information transfer link between the brain and the body as a result of that the body will lose the ability to perform simple reflexes.
