The best example of this type of behavior is
Romeo's whining and moping.
Petrarch's characters were often so madly in love, but couldn't be together with their loved ones because of some tragedy. Because of that, they would often be sad and cry over their pathetic lives and futile love, which is something that Romeo often does too.
