To solve for y, we need to get 4y by itself on one side and then simplify for y.
4y + 228 = 353
Subtract 228 from both sides.
228 - 228 = 0
353 - 228 = 125
4y = 125
Divide both sides by 4.
4y / 4 = y
125 / 4 = 31.25
y = 31.25
I hope this helps!
