Hi there
First find the rate of growth
The formula is
P=Ae^rt
P 76 million
A 72 million
E constant
R ?
T 1,996−1,993=3 years
We need to solve for r rate of growth
R=[log (p/A)÷log (e)]÷t
R=(log(76÷72)÷log(e))÷3
R=0.018

Now Estimate the population in 2003
P=Ae^rt
P ?
A 72 million
E constant
R 0.018
T 2,003−1,993=10 years
So
P=72×e^(0.018×10)
P=86 million

Hope it helps
