x = 4.5
2x - 3 = 6
6 + 3 = 2x
2x = 9
(Divide by 2 to get x by itself)
2x/2 = 9/2
x = 4.5

x is 9 over 2! If the question requires a decimal point, put 9/2 into the calculator!
