(1)
Which of the following statements best describes the reflection of a rectangle over the x-axis?
The x-coordinates will not change.
The y-coordinates will not change.
The image and the pre-image will be similar.
The line of reflection runs through the y-axis.

(2)
Point W has coordinates (4, -7). If it is reflected over the y-axis, what are the coordinates of its image?
(4, 7)
(-4, 7)
(-4, -7)
(4, -7)

(3)
A (5, 3), B (2, 1), and C (-2, 4) are the coordinates of a triangle's vertices. If the triangle is reflected over the x-axis, what are the coordinates of the image?
A'(-5, 3), B'(-2, 1), C'(2, 4)
A'(-5, 3), B'(-2, 1), C'(-2, 4)
A'(-5, -3), B'(-2, -1), C'(2, -4)
A'(5, -3), B'(2, -1), C'(-2, -4)

(4)
R (3, 2), S (5, -2), and T (6, 0) are the coordinates of a triangle's vertices. If the triangle is reflected over the y-axis, what are the coordinates of the image?
R'(-3, 2), S'(-5, -2), T'(6, 0)
R'(-3, 2), S'(-5, -2), T'(-6, 0)
R'(-3, -2), S'(-5, 2), T'(-6, 0)
R'(3, -2), S'(5, 2), T'(6, 0)

For question number 1, the correct answer would be the x coordinate would be the same, or will not change.

For question number 2, the correct answer would be (-4,-7)

For question number 3, the correct answer would be A'(5, -3), B'(2, -1), C'(-2, -4)

For question number 4, the correct answer would be R'(-3, 2), S'(-5, -2), T'(-6, 0)

If you have any questions, just ask. ;)

Answer:

1. The x-coordinates will not change

2. (-4, -7)

3. A'(5, -3), B'(2, -1), C'(-2, -4)

4. R'(-3, 2), S'(-5, -2), T'(-6, 0)

Every time you reflect somethig over the x-axis yo have to change the y coordenates to the exact oposite.

Every time you reflect somethig over the y-axis yo have to change the x coordenates to the exact oposite.
