p(s)=b+cs, pay as a function of sales=base+commission(sales)...we are given that:

344=b+600c so we can say that:

b=344-600c, then we are given that:

440=b+1000c, so we can say that:

b=440-1000c

Since b=b we have:

344-600c=440-1000c

400c=96

c=0.24, since b=440-1000c

b=200 so now we have solved for the two constants for our pay equation:

p(s)=200+0.24(s) So if Michael sells $2200 worth of merchandise:

p(2200)=200+0.24(2200)

p(2200)=$728.00
