The formula for determining the distance between two points is expressed as

d\text{ = }\sqrt[]{(x2-x1)^2+(y2-y1)^2}

From the information given,

x1 = - 2, y1 = 3

x2 = x, y2 = y

\begin{gathered} d\text{ = }\sqrt[]{(x--2)^2+(y-3)^2} \\ d\text{ = }\sqrt[]{(x+2)^2+(y-3)^2} \end{gathered}

The 3rd option is correct. This is so because

(x + 2)^2 would always be equal to (- 2 - x)^2 regardless of the value of x

(3 - y)^2 would always be equal to (y - 3)^2 regardless of the value of y

The 10th option is correct
