You multiply 2 1/2 to 1/8 since john ate 2 and a half times more than Lisa. As a result you convert 2 1/2 to a mixed number and get 5/2. When you multiply 5/2 and 1/8 you get 5/16. So John ate 5/16 of the pizza.
