The option 2nd is correct. i.e. long strings, less tension, thick strings will produce low pitches from a guitar string.

A guitar has high pitch when its frequency is high. Short strings produce a higher pitch than long strings. Thin strings produce a higher pitch than thick strings. More tension in the string produces a higher pitch than less tension.
