L=length, W=width. Perimeter is
P=2L+2W=34 also
L=2W-4
solve this system of 2 equations by substitution. Put 2nd equation into first:
2(2W-4)+2W=34
4W-8+2W=34
6W=42
W=42/6
W=7
Now since L=2W-4
L=2(7)-4
L=10
