Answer:

Option 2 is correct.

Explanation:

We have been given diameter of the tank 9 ft and height of the cylindrical water tank 12 ft

Radius is half of diameter that is 9/2=4.5

Since, water surface is 2 ft from the top

New height will become 12-2=10 ft

We have to find how much water tank contains means the capacity of tank to contain water

We will find volume of the cylindrical water tank by using formula:

volume=\pi\cdot r^2\cdot h

On substituting the values r=4.5,h=10 and
\pi=3.14we get

volume=3.14\cdot (4.5)^2\cdot 10

\Rightarrow volume=3.14\20.25\cdot 10

\Rightarrow volume=635.85=636 ft^3

Therefore,Option 2 is correct.
