1000 grams is equal to 1 kg, so gabbys metal weighs 3.2 kg(3200g), and kayla's weighs 2.7 kg(2700g). Subtract 3.2 by 2.7 to get 0.5 kg.
gabby's metal is 0.5 kg(500grams) heavier.
