Elaine, because she brought 0.75 pounds of potato salad while Jake brought 0.66 pounds of macaroni salad. The strategy you would use is you would divide 3 by 4 for the first part and 2 by 3 for the second part.

Elaine, b/c she bought 3/4 and Jake bought 2/3, if you multiply 3/4 by 3 and 2/3 by 4 to option the same denominator (12), Elaine has 9/12 lbs and Jake has 8/12, therefore, Elaine has more.
