1. Given the bases a and b of a trapezoid, the length of the median m can be found by the formula
m= (a+b)/(2)

2. MP and NO are the bases so applying the above formula:


24= ((x+8)+(5x+4))/(2)


48= 6x+12


6x=36

x=6
