1) Distribute 6(x-2) by doing 6 * x + 6 * -2
6x - 12 = 4

2) We want to isolate x, by moving all of the numbers to the other side of the equation. To get rid of -12, we add 12 tot both sides
6x - 12 + 12 = 4 + 12
6x = 16

3) We want one s instead of 6, so we divide both sides by 6
6x/6 = 16/6
x = 2 4/6 or 8/3
