The answer is
Explanation/steps:
1) Solve what's inside the absolute value brackets
|5 - 3| + |-4 -6|
|2| + |-10|
2) The absolute value of 2 is 2, and the absolute value of -10 is 10
2 + 10
3) Add 2 and 10
12
Therefore, the answer is 12
