1.

Let:

B=Batches of cookies

E=Flour

V=Vanilla

2. one batch of cookies calls for 5 cups of flour and 2 teaspoons of vanilla. Therefore:

15E/5 = 3E ; 6V/2 = 3V

We can conclude that with that amount we can make 3 batches of

cookies:

3. As we said before, one batch of cookies calls for 5 cups of flour and 2 teaspoons of vanilla:

B = 5E + 2V

So, let's multiply both sides of the previous equation by 5:

5*B = 5*(5E + 2V)

Using distributive property:

5B = 25E + 10V

Therefore we would need 25 cups of flour and 10 teaspoons of vanilla in order to make 5 batches of cookies.

4. We can find another ratio of cups of flour to teaspoons of vanilla simply multiplying this equation B = 5E + 2V by a random positive integer:

For example by 7:

7*B = 7*(5E + 2V)

7B = 35E + 14V

So, another equivalent ratio is:

35:14
